Eikando Zenrinji Temple – Kyoto

Eikan-do Zenrin-ji Temple is located in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, and the fantastic sight that autumn leaves wrap the two-storied pagoda is a must-see.  Many tourists visit this temple from all over the country, especially during the autumn leaves season.

When late autumn when Higashiyama is dyed in red, it is overwhelmed with a very beautiful landscape. Approximately 3000 maples (maple trees) are planted in the precincts, especially the maple around the Houjouchi pond is beautiful. The recommended view point of autumn leaves is near Benzaiten in the precincts.
