Called little Kyoto

The history of Shuzenji is with the history of Shuzenji temple that Kobo Daishi opened in the second year of Daido (807). It is said that Kobo Daishi has discovered a hot spring, and that is the origin of Shuzenji Onsen.

The history of Shuzenji Onsen is very old, and there are wonderful city streets showing various faces according to the season, such as Shuzenji which is the center of the hot spring town, small bamboo grove of tasteful atmosphere, and five red bridges over Katsuragawa.
