Sanjusangendo – Kyoto

4.5 out of 5 stars
Rating 4.5

The official name is "Renge Ouin", the Originally is the imperial villa of Goshirakawa Emperor after reigning the country in late Heian.

The main temple (designated as a national treasure) extending long in the north and south looking to the east has come to be called "Sanjusangendo" because the number of pillars is 33. There are 1001 Senju Kannon Statues in total, in addition to that there is the "Wind God Raiden Statue" created during the Kamakura period.

There are really many Kannon-sama, but their facial features are different and I do not get tired of it. You may find a Kannon similar to your friend from many of Kannon's.
