Taketomi Island (Taketomi-jima) is an island located in the Yaeyama Islands in Okinawa Prefecture. It belongs to Taketomi - cho, Yaeyama - gun, Okinawa Prefecture. From Ishigakijima which is the center of Yaeyama, it is located a distance of about 10 minutes (about 6 km) by a high speed ship.
